About The Curious Thimble Studio
The Curious Thimble Studio is my art practice where I explore the everyday magic in my life. It combines textile, embroidery, block-printing, illustration and machine sewing to explore the world around me and the moments that hold my heart.
I have been working as an artist professionally for ten years with a vibrant teaching practice and small studio business. I have dabbled in metal, relief carving, painting and textile/garment making. My current body of work is the result of all of these practices working together to tell stories through a folk perspective.
I received my undergraduate degree at Mt. Holyoke College in Art History and a graduate degree in Italian Cultural Studies at the University of Connecticut. My love for art and history comes through in my part-time work as a historical interpreter at a local history museum.
